Today I am thinking about Buzz a lot. He was a 96 y/o WWII pilot who decided that he was tired of dialysis and was ready to join his beloved wife. He spent about three weeks with his daughter after he stopped treatment eating whatever he liked and visiting friends and relatives. Although he hated the war, he loved flying, and continued to fly after he returned home. He's been gone for 3 or 4 years now, and he was the only patient I ever went to see on Saturday. (His VA medical appointments interfered with his PT visits at times.) If you could adopt grandparents, I would have taken him in a heartbeat. He was quite a charmer!
