Laptop Musings

Photo Credit: Leigh Standley @ Artfest last year.

It's been a week since my laptop didn't wake up and let me tell you it's harder than I thought it would be to not have it.  You know when you leave the house and you swear you've forgotten something important only to find it was the dog or your kid or something (I am mostly kidding), well that is what it feels like.  Of course it's not the end of the world by any means and my shoulder is glad to have the break from schlepping my gigantic bag complete with laptop and power cord. Mostly it's just an inconvenience and of course Universal lesson on so many levels which I am negotiating quite well.

Lately the thing is miss most is my bookmarks! Laptops did for web addresses what cell phones did for phone numbers, just put them in and forget about it.  So today as you click from site-to-site in your bookmarks give a little smile for the convenience of it all. :)

Hope you have a WOW Wednesday (as my Mema says)!

Oh sister, I can only imagine!! Actually I had a brief glimpse of your pain a few weeks back when my laptop got deathly ill, but thanks to life support she lived to tell about it.

And I've seen your bookmark was a force to be reckoned with for sure.

I'm having a blue day anyways so I'll throw a little pity party for you too so you don't have to! How's that for love?

In the future, check out xmarks - it allows you to upload all your bookmarks to a server and access them (and sync them) with any computer anywhere....

I cannot relate. I am still resisting techonolgy to the point where I have no laptop, smart phone, or even e-reader. I have only caved to the iPod. I know that once I take the next step, it will all snowball, and I will be helpless to the lure of endless info at my fingertips.
Which Mac are you looking to get? If you are having trouble deciding, they probably have an app for that!

I would be seriously crippled without my bookmarks -- on our home PC, the laptop, and on my office machine. You seem to be handling the transition with grace, though!
